Garth Ivan is a contemporary photographic artist whose work investigates the intersections of light, time, and perception. Based in Inverclyde, Scotland, his images have been featured in publications such as Politico, Variety, and Deadline, and two of his works were shortlisted and exhibited at the 2023 Scottish Portrait Awards.

Garth holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography & Film from the Savannah College of Art & Design, and he is recipient of multiple awards, both for photography and art direction.

His associations include board membership at The Wyllieum Gallery, and Brand & Marketing Advisor at the Glasgow Art Club and Gallery. He is a champion of elevating the region of Inverclyde and its artistic endeavors.

Garth’s practice has evolved through several solo exhibitions and group shows, focusing on photographic installations that challenge traditional notions of photography as a medium. He continues to explore the boundaries of photographic storytelling, with focus on embracing in-camera techniques wherever possible.

His recent projects, such as The Liturgy of the Moons and The Artists & Craftsmen of Inverclyde, have been exhibited in major venues and received significant press coverage, including a feature on the cover of ArtMag.
