Opening Night Recap
Exhibition Overview
The Artists & Craftsmen of Inverclyde is a portrait series that shines a light on the vibrant, ever-growing creative community within this historically industrial region of Scotland. Rather than attempting a comprehensive survey—an impossible task given the sheer depth of talent—this project is an intimate study of the artists, makers, and craftspeople who define Inverclyde’s cultural landscape.
Too often, Greenock and the wider Inverclyde area are framed through the lens of economic decline and post-industrial hardship. Yet within its repurposed warehouses, former shopfronts, and adapted studio spaces, a thriving art scene is taking root. Like the transformation of Brooklyn’s abandoned industrial spaces into creative hubs a generation ago, artists here are forging something new from the echoes of the past—bringing color, form, and ideas to a place too often overlooked.

Exhibition Details
This is not an exhaustive survey - how could it be? The creative spirit here in our corner of Scotland is too vast and vibrant to capture in any single effort. This project, instead, is about showcasing dear friends, studio mates, and individuals I deeply admire - those who trusted me enough to step in front of the camera, allowing me to offer a small glimpse into the extraordinary talent that flourishes here.
